The State Fire Marshal will share essential guidance for public facility managers on meeting safety requirements and reducing risks. Topics will include:
- Fire Inspections: What inspectors look for, how to prepare, and common pitfalls to avoid.
- Proper Storage Guidelines: Best practices for storing chemicals, supplies, and equipment to maintain compliance and minimize hazards.
- Annual Testing Requirements: An overview of testing and maintenance schedules for alarms, sprinklers, extinguishers, and other critical systems.
- Record Keeping: Accurate record keeping is just as critical as inspections—without it, safety compliance can’t be proven or sustained
Attendees will gain practical tools to strengthen their school safety programs, ensure compliance with state regulations, document the actions, and foster a safe environment for students, staff, and the community.
